Marathon Oil Company Awards Data Systems & Solutions EMIS Implementation Contract

Reston, VA, June 11, 2002 -- Data Systems & Solutions has been awarded a contract by Marathon Oil Company to implement Environmental Software Providers' (ESP) opsEnvironmental™ software at all 10 of Marathon's worldwide Business Units including its corporate and worldwide drilling organizations. opsEnvironmental™ is an enterprise-level software suite for multi-media environmental data management. By integrating opsEnvironmental™ software with current Marathon data and materials and implementing a new global Environmental Management Information System (EMIS), Data Systems & Solutions will produce a streamlined and cohesive system of regulatory compliance data reporting tools, thereby enhancing Marathon's cost savings and time managements.

Marathon Oil Corporation is headquartered in Houston, Texas and is engaged in the worldwide exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas on four continents, as well as the domestic refining, marketing, and transportation of petroleum products.

The new EMIS will leverage opsEnvironmental™ software to provide a cohesive framework and repository for handling and processing compliance-related data and requirements reporting. The EMIS system will cover the areas of Compliance Tracking and Monitoring, Air Emissions, Water Discharges, Waste Generation, and Incident Tracking.
